The Mathematics Laboratory at ST. R.V. Convent School is a well-established initiative aimed at enriching classroom learning through innovative and practical teaching methods. The Mathematics Department has always strived to create an engaging environment that supplements traditional teaching with hands-on experiences.
At present, the Maths Lab is a compulsory component of the Mathematics teaching-learning process. The school prepares an annual schedule of lab activities for Classes II to VIII, which is shared with students at the beginning of the academic session. Each activity is carefully designed by teachers to reduce the abstract nature of mathematical concepts and connect them to real-life applications.
Weekly Schedule and Function of the Lab:-
- A dedicated Maths Lab period is allotted to every class in the weekly timetable.
- A pre-planned experiment or activity is conducted under the guidance of the teacher.
- Students are provided with reference material and background information before the activity.
- The activity is followed by observation, discussion, and real-life application.
- Students are encouraged to create working or static models, which are displayed on the bulletin board as exhibits.
